In a turn about from what public health officials have been claiming, a new study has found that natural infection from COVID is as effective two doses of the mRNA shots.
As reported by NBC News, senior study author Dr. Christopher Murray said, “This is really good news in the sense that protection against severe disease and death after infection is really quite sustained at 10 months.”
Despite the good news, experts, including Murray, say that getting the shots is still the preferable thing to do. He did add that the study shows that policy-making officials should be able to use this information to accept that natural infection is equivalent to the shots.
Murray also noted that natural infection was slower to wane than the jab, too.
