FDA ‘Simplifies’ Recommendations for COVID-19 Bivalent Jabs

In what it describes as a simplification of its recommendations for the COVID-19 bivalent shots, the FDA not only has rewritten its guidelines for adult shots, but is now authorizing their use for babies and children as young as 6 months old.

The FDA also noted that the monovalent shots are no longer approved. What this means, is that previously vaccinated individuals may now go ahead and get the bivalent shot. Those over age 65 and certain immunocompromised individuals may get an additional bivalent shot.

With children aged 6 months and up, the new “simplified” recommendations could mean that some children could possibly receive as many as five doses of the experimental gene therapy mRNA jabs, even when they have naturally acquired immunity.

This use of the bivalent COVID-19 jabs is supported by real-world data, the FDA says.
