In case you weren’t already buying the stuff by the litre.

Coconut oil is the George Clooney of the beauty world. It may seem kinda daggy and lack fancy packing but damn does this stuff werk. An old school classic.

It’s naturally antibacterial and antifungal and tasted great in those protein balls you made last week. There’s literally nothing this super oil can’t do.

And to prove it, we’ve got a your whole beauty regime sorted. And you guessed it – you only need one ingredient. Here are 10 amazing things that coconut oil can do for your hair, face and body.

#1 Deep conditioning treatment

These chilly days have got to be wreaking havoc on your ends. Thankfully coconut oil is here to save the day. Comb a small amount of the magical oil through your ends and head off to bed (pro tip: sleep in a shower cap to avoid an oily pillow). Wake up to gorgeous luscious locks. If your hair feels too oily then gently shampoo to remove any excess coconut.

#2 Tame frizz

Don’t shell out for expensive treatments, coconut oil can also help tame those frizzy flyaways. Just swipe a dab of oil through your mane and watch that frizz disappear. Coconut oil is also great at protecting your hair from heat (but it’s probably best to buy a specific heat protectant which contains coconut oil in order to get full protection).

#3 Dandruff be gone

Another wintertime torment, dandruff is often caused by a dry scalp. Hydrate your roots and banish those white flakes with a simple coconut oil mixture. Just heat 2 or 3 tablespoons of oil over a low flame. Once the oil liquifies, massage it into your scalp (test it first to make sure it’s not too hot, no one wants a burnt scalp). Wait 30 minutes and then wash your hair as you normally would.

#4 Clean your face

There’s nothing quite so spa-like as a double cleanse. Recreate the feeling in your very own bathroom with the help of some trusty coconut oil. Simply massage the oil into your face and neck, and then remove with your favourite cleanser. If you’re still finding that last stubborn bit of mascara hard to remove then pop a little coconut oil on a cotton ball and gently sweep it over your lashes.

#5 Lip scrub

Continue the spa day by removing that flaky skin from your lips. Simply mix coconut oil with some brown sugar and honey, and apply to lips. Watch that flaky skin go. If you’re after a bit of colour as well, then simply mix a little lipstick in with some coconut oil. Or if you’re all about that all-natural look, then coconut oil also works as a lip balm on its on.

#6 Coconut-fresh breath

A real old hippie home beauty technique, oil pulling apparently removes toxins from your mouth, leaving you with fresh breath. Swirl coconut oil around in your mouth for 10 to 20 minutes (this will work with any natural vegetable cooking oil). When the oil turns a milky white colour, the toxins have been safely removed. Just spit the oil into the bin and enjoy your new coconut-fresh breath.

#7 Glow up

Everyone loves a good highlight but sometimes there are occasions where Fenty Trophy Wife is just too OTT. For a natural-looking glow, simply apply coconut oil on top of your make-up. It’s probably best to use your fingers for this so you don’t mess up those expensive brushes.

#8 Shave your legs

The fact you’ve been wearing jeans for weeks is not excuse to neglect your legs. Nor is the fact that you’ve run out of shaving cream. Coconut oil is natural antimicrobial (which means no painful ingrown hairs) and soothes skin leaving it hydrated and smooth.

#9 Make your own body scrub

Remember that spa day we were having? This is the next step. Just heat up some coconut oil on a low heat. Once liquefied simply add brown sugar. You can even make it smell like your favourite scrub by adding some essential oils.

#10 Cuticle care

Don’t think we forgot those nails. Bring life back to your nail beds by applying coconut oil. You can thank us later.
