Why essiac tea should be part of your cancer fighting program

Essiac tea is a tonic made from a combination of roots, bark and leaves. Essiac Tea is a long proven method of helping with cancer since the 1920s and before. It is a four-herb formula that supports the immune system, destroys free radicals and purifies the liver and kidneys of toxins.

Named by Rene Caisse (“caisse” spelt backwards), the tea is made of four main herbs that grow in the wilderness of Ontario, Canada. The original formula is believed to have its roots from the native Canadian Ojibway Indians.

In 1959 Rene Caisse  (while supervised by over 18 doctors) started treating terminally ill patients at the Brusch Medical Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts with the four herb formula.  After three months of the treatment,  it was noticed that the size of their tumors shrank due to a change in cellular formations.  Even though these doctors did not state for Essiac to be a cure but once the research had finished they did state essiac was of great benefit.

The four main herbs that make up Essiac are Burdock Root, Slippery Elm Inner Bark, Sheep Sorrel and Indian Rhubarb Root.

Sheep Sorrel  both cleanses tissues and aids in their regeneration. In fact, some research has even found that it helps tissues and cells regain their normal attributes after being harmed by cancer.

Burdock Root contains arctigenin. Animal studies of mammary, colon and pancreatic cancer have shown promise for burdock’s ability to fight against cancer.

Slippery Elm Inner Bark

When combined with burdock root, Indian rhubarb and sheep sorrel  —  slippery elm inner bark can improve conditions for women with breast cancer and improve anxiety, depression, and fatigue.

Rhubarb root is loaded with antioxidants including polyphenols, flavonoids and tannins that help fight free radical damage.
