Listeria Contamination Triggers Urgent Ice Cream Recall

Totally Cool Inc. has recalled multiple brands of ice cream due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The affected brands include Friendly’s, Abylin’s Frozen, Hershey’s, Yelloh!, Jeni’s, Cumberland Farms, The Frozen Farmer, Marco, ChipWich, AMAFruits, Taharka, Dolcezza Gelato, and Lasalle.

The recall is due to the presence of Listeria, a bacterium causing serious infections in vulnerable groups such as young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Though no illnesses have been reported, production and distribution of the affected items have been halted.

Listeria infection symptoms include fever, muscle aches, and fatigue, usually appearing within two weeks of exposure. Consumers are urged to discard any recalled products and stay updated through Totally Cool Inc. for safety information.
